The Peak Of The Quadrantids Meteor Rain This Sunday In The Sky Of Indonesia, Note The Time!

The sky earlier this year will be decorated with Quadrantids meteor showers, which can be watched in Indonesia and several other countries without the need for special equipment.

The Quadrantids meteor shower occurs once a year when Earth passes through a piece of debris in its orbit. This debris includes chunks of tiny rock that enter the atmosphere and catch fire, creating meteor lines in the night sky.

Usually, the debris is abandoned by comets, although in the Quadrantids case it is an asteroid called the 2003 EH1 asteroid, causing debris to be responsible for the rain.

Quadrantids is one of the biggest meteor showers of the year, taking place from 26 December 2022 to 14 January 2023. But the rain will peak this week.

How to Watch Quadrantids Meteor Rain

Launching the BRIN page, the Quadrantids meteor shower will peak at 03.00 WIB on January 4 from northeastern, although you may also be able to see some meteors in the sky in the days before and beyond.

But your best chance of getting an incredible view is just before dawn on January 4, as you'll see 110 meteors per hour if you're lucky, moving at 41 km per second, and starting to fade as the Sun rises.

To witness this natural phenomenon, you will need a bright sky to be able to see the shower, so hope it doesn't rain.

Try to get away from a bright source of light like a city. Find a quiet place and lie on the ground while looking at the sky. After about 15 to 20 minutes, your eyes will adjust to the darkness and you will be able to see better.
