PPKM Has Been Revoked, Minister Sandiaga Explains The Decree Of The CHSE Program
Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno asked tourism actors to continue to participate in the CHSE (Cleanliness, Health, Safety, Environment Sustainability) certification program to increase tourist confidence.
This appeal was given after the revocation of the PPKM (Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities) policy by President Joko Widodo on December 30, 2022.
"The revocation of PPKM is a breath of fresh air for tourists and is very influential, especially in terms of psychology because it assumes that Indonesia's COVID-19 status is very under control. However, we still remind the public and tourists to prioritize safety and health and continue to echo the CHSE certification program as a lessons learned from the pandemic," Sandiaga said in a virtual Weekly Brief with Sandi Uno in Jakarta, Monday, January 2.
CHSE 9042 has become part of the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) which is motivated by managers, organizers, and supporters of tourism activities. Sandiaga hopes that there will be an increase in the trust of users and tourists in the CHSE certificate.
"This is a kind of gold standard, part of a higher quality and sustainable tourism development," he said.
By having a CHSE certificate, business actors are said to be helped to improve the quality of the service.
Later, continued the Menparekraf, there will be an audit inspection from the tourism affairs certification agency for each CHSE user regarding the implementation of the certification. The community and local tourism agencies will participate in monitoring services from every business, destination, and tourism product that uses CHSE.
"The Chairperson of the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) Haryadi Sukamdani stated that the PeduliLindung barcode will continue to be installed in hotels and restaurants and it is hoped that its effectiveness will increase. With good COVID-19 control, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy), PHRI, all local governments continue to support increased vigilance even though in the transition era to endemic by revoking PPKM," said Sandiaga.
