Remember His Name! Moses 'Eneriko' Ituma, Candidates For Record Breaking Mike Tyson
JAKARTA - Young boxer Moses 'Eneriko' Ituma is on the verge of breaking the record of former heavyweight boxer Mike Tyson. That's after he signed a contract with veteran promoter Frank Warren.
The junior and European world champions are willing to cancel their 18th anniversary celebrations to join the Queensberry Promotions. He followed in the footsteps of his older brother who is also the champion of the Youth Olympics, Karol Ituma.
"My brother and I have spoken about my chances of breaking that record [Mike Tyson] and now it's just a matter of time. [The record] is solvable," he said.
Moses has a slick record during his fight at the amateur level (24-0). Various achievements made at a young age made him estimated to have bright prospects for taking part in a professional event later.
So far he has won gold at school level Juniors and Youth Europeans, and the gold medal at the junior world championship last November in Spain. In addition, Moses is also a two-time national champion and winner of BoxCup Multi-Nations.
"It's not easy to get a world title fight, I can only go there and fight. So, I won't get angry at things I can't control," he said.
In Queensberry later, Moses will be under manager Francis Warren who is Frank Warren's son. Francis is a manager in the management of CSM.
Moses is expected to try to break Tyson's record which has lasted for 36 years since 1986 in 2025. At that time, Tyson was the youngest world heavyweight champion at the age of 20, four months, and 22 days.
Currently, Tyson Fury holds the WBC belt and is expected to fight WBA, IBF and WBO kings Oleksandr Usyk in the near future. Mandatory barriers, former champions and established challengers such as Joe Joyce, Daniel Dubois, Filip Hrgovic, Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder and Andy Ruiz also fight for the title.
For this reason, Itutauma certainly knows exactly the time frame he has to destroy one of Tyson's most extraordinary achievements.
