Man In South Sulawesi Steals His Wife's 284 Gram Gold Motorbike, Makes A Spree Buying Karaoke Equipment
MAKASSAR - A man with the initials Im (49) stole a motorcycle and gold belonging to his wife Nu (60) in Pinrang Regency, South Sulawesi (Sulsel).
The perpetrator was arrested by the police on a Yamaha NMAX motorcycle, and a cellphone. Kasat Reskrim Pinrang Police AKP Dharma Praditya Negara said the perpetrator was the husband of the victim who married in 2019.
"The police got a report from the victim regarding a criminal case of theft in the family. Then the police conducted a search and investigation regarding the whereabouts of the suspected perpetrator, after we conducted an investigation, information was obtained that the perpetrator was arrested while in Gowa Regency," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Pinrang Police AKP Dharma Praditya Negara was contacted by VOI, Wednesday, December 23.
The perpetrator admitted that he had stolen his wife's belongings. This item was taken by the victim's room closet.
"The perpetrator admitted to selling the victim's gold jewelery. The proceeds from the sale were partly used for savings and loan cooperatives. Some were used to buy karaoke equipment and some were used for fun," said AKP Dharma Praditya Negara.
From this incident, the police also secured evidence of developments carried out by the police, namely Rp. 50 million and a karaoke device.
"As much as Rp. 50 million, 1 karaoke kit consists of 2 microphones, 3 salon units and 1 amplifier unit. 1 motorcycle unit," he said.
