Moeldoko Asks No Crowds Or Traffic During Christmas And New Year Holidays

JAKARTA - Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko asked all stakeholders involved in the 2021 Christmas and New Year holidays to go the extra mile in implementing standard health protocols. Given that the Christmas and New Year holidays were held in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"There should be no accumulation of people and vehicles. No crowds and traffic jams. Prepare various scenarios and mitigations to break down the density at each point without exception, "said Moeldoko when he opened the Online Cross-Sector Coordination Meeting for Christmas and New Year 2021, Wednesday, December 23.

This is in accordance with the Covid-19 Handling Task Force Circular Number 3 of 2020 concerning the Health Protocol for People Travel During Christmas and New Year Holidays in the Covid-19 Pandemic Period. Moeldoko also asked all parties to anticipate the movement of people during the Nataru holiday, especially at critical points, traffic jams and vulnerable points for crowds.

"For example, with traffic engineering and a system for opening and closing roads and rest areas," added Moeldoko.

The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) through the Directorate General of Land Transportation, Ministry of Transportation, explained that it will limit the traffic of certain goods vehicles to overcome congestion.
