Visited Wisman Capai 657,200 In November 2022, BPS: The Number Has Dropped Due To Restrictions On Flights During The G20 In Bali

JAKARTA The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) stated that the level of foreign tourist arrivals (tourists) decreased in November 2022.

It was stated that during that period the number of foreign tourist visits was 657,200 visits, both through the main entrance (airport) and border entrances (sea and land).

Head of BPS Margo Yuwono revealed that this figure is less than October 2022, which was 678,900 visits.

According to Margo, his party identified several things that caused the arrival of the guesthouse to decline towards the end of the year. First, the period coincides with the G20 event in Bali.

Second, there are regular flight restrictions to main tourist sites, especially Bali, because they prioritize the arrival of the G20 delegation.

"So there is indeed special treatment for regular flights which are then limited. This is the reason why the level of foreign tourist visits has decreased in Bali," he said.

Meanwhile, overall for January to November 2022, the number of foreign tourists entering Indonesia totaled 4.57 million arrivals. This figure soared by 228 percent from the same period the previous year with 1.39 million visits.

As is known, in mid-November last week the G20 Summit was held. The agenda is a meeting at the level of the head of state led by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) as the host and President of the Republic of Indonesia at the G20 for the 2022 period.
