Black Sabbath Guitarist Tony Iommi Ready To Go Back To Studio

JAKARTA - Black Sabbath heavy metal legend guitarist Tony Iommi shared a year-end video message in which he outlined several projects that kept him busy over the past 12 months.

In an eight-minute clip, the 74-year-old musician, diagnosed with early-stage lymphoma more than a decade ago, said he would create a new album.

"It's been a good year for me, 2022. I've written and recorded a new song. I'm building a new studio. Actually, the studio has been built, and is almost ready to use; I'm waiting for some equipment. Due to the war [in Ukraine], some parts have stopped. But we're almost there," Iommi was quoted as saying by Blabbermouth, Monday.

"In a few weeks, I think I will be ready to step in and start working there, which I look forward to - writing another album," he continued.

Iommi also confirmed that the Black Sabbath albums recorded with vocalist Tony Martin will be re-released this year.

"Of course, we will release box sets of Tony Martin and Cozy Powell and Neil Murray," he said.

"And I'm looking forward to it, because a lot of people are asking about it, and it's good. They want to see when the box set comes out."
