Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno: Creative Economic Products Of Banyuwangi Must Have Competitiveness

Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno stated that the superior destination and creative economy products (ekraf) of Banyuwangi City in East Java must be able to have competitiveness for foreign tourists (tourists) and domestic tourists (wisnus).

"Like fashion products that already have advantages, they can become products that have added value," he said during a discussion with 150 tourism and creative economy actors (parekraf) at the Sabha Swagata Blambangan Hall, Banyuwangi, East Java, through an official statement, quoted from Antara, Saturday, December 31.

Based on Grab Indonesia data, an average of 98.5 percent of tourists who attended East Java came from foreign tourists based on 2019-2022. In 2022, the number of international tourists who came to East Java rose 5.6 times compared to 2021 and contributed to the economic sector by 68 percent.

It is said that it will continue to prepare programs to support the development of parekraf in Banyuwangi. These include Beti Dewi (Bui Kreatif Tourism Village) and ADWI (Anugerah Indonesian Tourism Village), as well as creative support through facilitation of creative actors, intellectual property facilitation, AKI (Indonesian Creative Appreciation), Planogram, and onboarding of creative actors in the marketplace.

"I want to prepare creative economy and tourism actors in Banyuwangi to welcome 2023 which is full of opportunities. We must fight so that new job opportunities are created to improve people's welfare," he said.

Banyuwangi Regent Ipuk Fiestiandani said that Banyuwangi will continue to make the tourism sector one of the focuses of development.

So far, he continued, the tourism sector has had a big impact on transformation in Banyuwangi Regency, causing economic growth, changes in people's behavior to be better in supporting tourism growth in Banyuwangi Regency, and the arts and culture sectors are also growing.

"The love and pride of the Banyuwangi people in the regions is also increasing because of the growing tourism in Banyuwangi Regency," he said.
