Police Arrested Symposium FPI In Kalteng For Insulting Ulama Abah Guru Sekumpul

JAKARTA - The Central Kalimantan Police Ditreskrimsus team arrested the suspect with the initials FA (30), the perpetrator of a hate speech case on social media. The suspect insulted the big cleric.

The FA suspect was arrested on Jalan Bukit Tinggi, Beriwit Village, Murung District, Murung Raya Regency, Central Kalimantan.

"The post that was found on IG (Instagram) on behalf of sry_mutmut_zee has been proven to have committed a criminal offense in the ITE field and fulfills the elements of SARA," said Head of Public Relations of the Central Kalimantan Regional Police, Kombes Hendra Rochamawan, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, December 23.

Meanwhile, Kombes Pasma Royce, Director of Criminal Investigation of the Central Kalimantan Police, explained that social media accounts that plagiarized other people's accounts were found with posts that contained hatred for the government, the community and even one of the famous scholars, Muhammad Zaini Abdul Ghani or known as Abah Guru Sekumpul.

"From the results of our interrogation, information was obtained that the FA was a sympathizer of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI). Not only photos, but in the form of videos and captions containing hateful words," said Pasma.

From the results of the investigation, it was found that FA was a citizen who never socialized in the community. Social media is a means for FA to communicate so far.

"Evidently from an FA, we have found 35 accounts from a number of cellphones he owns," he said.

For his actions, the FA suspect will be charged under Article 45 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 28 paragraph (2) of Law Number 19 of 2016 amendments to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions.
