Wishnutama: I Have Admired Sandiaga Uno For A Long Time
JAKARTA - Wishnutama Kusubandio officially resigned his position as Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf). This was marked by the inauguration of Sandiaga Uno by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) as the new minister today.
During the handover ceremony (Sertijab) held at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Wishnutama said, Sandiaga was a person he had admired for a long time. Not only that, he also believes that under Sandiaga's leadership, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy will be better.
"I believe that under his leadership, tourism and the creative economy will be better in the future," he said, during the Handover ceremony, at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Jalan Merdeka Barat, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, December 23.
Wishnutama also warned about the challenges that Sandiaga Uno would face in encouraging the tourism sector and the creative economy. The challenge in question is the COVID-19 pandemic.
"In the past year we have faced a very heavy pandemic, especially one that hit the tourism sector and the creative economy. This is an extraordinary challenge, of course this will be an extraordinary challenge for Bang Sandi in the future," he said.
Furthermore, the man who is familiarly called Tama said that he was part of a big team at a time that was very unpredictable, and things were difficult to guess. In fact, he said, sometimes most of the planning can be executed, but most of it is not executed.
Tama said, the health factor must be a top priority in this country. Therefore, he said, activities must be measured so that they are always safe and can be carried out. He admitted that since the pandemic was present, he has always tried to find solutions so that tourism and creative economy actors can survive this storm.
Tama said, there are many who have very high hopes for the tourism sector and the creative economy. In fact, millions of people depend on this sector.
"Bang Sandi said nearly 13 million creative economy sectors nearly 20 million, which depend on the sector under the creative economy ministry. But I still believe that under the leadership of Bang Sandi, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy we can rise, and of course not only rise but much more. better than before, "he said.
He then thanked the ranks of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy for their dedication and hard work. As well as assistance during his tenure as minister.
"This is my last speech as minister of tourism and creative economy. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the ranks and employees for their dedication and hard work," he said.
Not only that, Wishnutama also advised Sandiaga and all line ministries to work with heart. Because, he said, there is never a wrong time to do good, and there is never a good time to do wrong.
"Do something with your heart for the good and progress of tourism and the creative economy. Finally, I conveyed the baton to further lead the struggle of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. I will hand it over and entrust the Minister and friends so that we can all go forward," he said.
