General Secretary Of PP Muhammadiyah Refuses To Become Deputy Minister Of Education And Culture Accompanying Nadiem Makarim
JAKARTA - The General Secretary (Sekum) of PP Muhammadiyah Abdul Mu'ti admitted that he was contacted by the Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Pratikto. Abdul Mu'ti admitted that he was offered the position of deputy minister of Education and Culture to accompany Nadiem Makarim.
"Initially, when contacted by the Minister of State Secretary and the Minister of Education and Culture, I stated that I was willing to join if given the mandate." Abdul Mu'ti said in his official twitter account, @Abe_Mukti quoted on Wednesday, December 23.
Although initially he had expressed his willingness, but returned to thinking about his abilities. "However, after measuring my ability, I changed my mind. Hopefully this is the best choice," said Abdul Mu'ti.
Finally he decided not to take the position of deputy minister. This was done after thorough consideration.
"After going through various considerations, I decided not to join the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet as deputy minister," he said.

Meanwhile, President Joko Widodo today appointed six new ministers in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet. In addition, Jokowi also appointed five new ministers namely.
1. Deputy Minister of Defense Lt. Gen. TNI Muhammad Herindra
2. Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights Edward Omar Syarif Hiariej
3. Deputy Health Minister Dante Saksono Harbuwono
4. Harvick Hasnul Qolbi as Deputy Minister of Agriculture
5. Deputy Minister of BUMN Pahala Nugraha Mansyuri
