Doctors In England Salah Send Messages, Supposedlymessful Christmas Messages Sent 'You Get Diagnosed Lung Cancer'
JAKARTA - Supposedly a Merry Christmas greeting to be sent. But what was sent was a scary text, 'You were diagnosed with lung cancer'.
A surgeon in the UK has apologized for sending text to patients who said they had advanced lung cancer. Even though he wanted to say Merry Christmas.
"Diagnosis - Lung cancer is aggressive with metastasis. Thank you," text missubmitted received by a number of patients as reported by Channel News Asia, Thursday, December 29.
Even one surgeon has asked them to be given a form for people with deadly diseases.
But 20 minutes later, a follow-up message came. An apology from Askern Medical Practice, near Doncaster, South Yorkshire.
"Please accept our sincere apologies for the text messages sent earlier. This has been sent out of error," he said.
"Our message to you that should have been read is We wish you a Merry Christmas and New Year."
It's not clear how many people received the failed messages sent before Christmas.
One of the recipients, property developer Chris Reed, 57, has been waiting for the results of a lung cancer test.
He told The Sun every day, his partner was crying when the message arrived.
Reed then tried to go to the clinic. But failed because he was stuck in traffic. However, he was convinced by the doctor that the result turned out to be negative.
