PKS Asks Heru Budi To Give A New Home For Victims Of The Mampang Pela Fire
Chairman of the PKS faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Achmad Yani, asked the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono to provide a place to live for residents of the Pela Mampang fire victims.
This was stated by Yani in the interruption of the plenary meeting of the DKI Jakarta DPRD which was also attended by Heru.
"I hope this can be completed, and hopefully they can return to their homes after being given a new house that was noticed by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government," said Yani at the DKI Jakarta DPRD Building, Wednesday, December 28.
The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has distributed aid to meet the urgent needs of residents who are now in refugee camps due to the fire in their houses.
However, according to Yani, they still have other long-term problems, namely the uncertainty of the place to live after no longer taking refuge. Yani views that the DKI Provincial Government can spend a budget from the APBD to facilitate their housing.
"Prepare the budget, find a solution and pay attention to residents affected by the fire so that their houses can be rebuilt," said Yani.
"I ask the DKI Provincial Government to solve the problem of residents' houses, so prepare a budget. I think this is a big task for DKI Jakarta by serving the community," he continued.
For information, a fire hit a densely populated residential area in Pela Mampang Village, Mampang Prapatan District, South Jakarta on Monday, December 26 evening.
At least 83 houses were in RT 006, 007, and 008, RW 5 that were burned down. The fire was extinguished with 36 fire engines on Tuesday, December 27 in the morning.
Now, 543 people from 179 families have fled to three refugee posts in mosques, tents from the DKI Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), and RW posts. It is suspected that the cause of the fire was an electrical short circuit.
