Update On COVID-19 As Of December 22: 6,347 New Cases, 5,838 Cured Cases
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 49,806 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 6,347 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 678,125 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Tuesday, December 22.
Cases recovered today increased by 5,838 so that a total of 552,722 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 172 people and a total of 20,257 people.
The province with the most new cases is in DKI Jakarta with 1,311 new cases and a total of 165,888 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.
Followed by West Java which has 925 new cases with a total of 75,589 cases. Central Java has 895 new cases and a total of 73,423 cases. Then, East Java has 706 new cases and a total of 76,817 cases.
The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,379 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 771 recovered cases, South Sulawesi with an increase of 765 recovered cases, and East Java with an increase of 594 recovered cases.
Then, there is no province that reported having no new cases as of today. Provinces with additional cases under 10 are West Papua with 8 cases and North Maluku with 5 new cases.
In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 6,873,836. In detail, as many as 6,755,196 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 118,640 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).
Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 69,343 people. Currently, 510 districts / cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.
