The Increase Of Lautaro Martinez's Release Clause Which Will Make It Difficult For Barca

JAKARTA - Barcelona's hunt for Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez in the summer will be much more complicated. The Nerrazzurri are reported to have improved the Argentina international's release clause.

La Blaugrana is likely to sign a new striker as a transfer priority ahead of the 2020-21 season. The Catalan giants have been linked with big money moves for Martinez.

The 22-year-old is under contract at the San Siro until 2023, but according to reports in the Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via Mundo Deportivo, he will have a release clause of 111 million euros this summer.

To complicate matters further for Barca, the bid window for Martinez will only be available for two weeks in June, before the release clause expires.

But despite the reduced chances of Barcelona - or other European superpowers taking advantage of the clause - significantly, Inter are reportedly interested in agreeing to an upgraded contract and higher release clause.

The former Racing Club player has signaled he is open to accepting proposals from big clubs outside Italy. But Antonio Conte is determined to keep him in Serie A.

Martinez, who signed for Inter at the start of last season, has established himself as a key player this season. He scored 16 goals in 27 matches in the 2019-20 competition.
