Provinces With Extremal Weather Potential Ahead Of New Year, BNPB: Flood Alert And Land Land Land Land Landslides
YOGYAKARTA - The New Year 2023 is just a matter of days away, but what about the weather on the eve of the celebration of the turn of the year 2022 to 2023? Are there any predictions for the province with the potential for extreme weather ahead of the new year from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNBP)?
"Reminding the local governments in Java, Bali, NTB (West Nusa Tenggara), then South Sulawesi is the potential for heavy to very heavy rain," said Acting Head of the BNPB Disaster Data and Information Center Abdul Muhari during the online Disaster Briefing event in Jakarta. This was quoted by VOI from Antara, Tuesday (12/26).
Therefore, BNPB warns that areas that are subject to the highest hydrometeorological disasters, such as in West Java Province, and especially Bogor Regency, should be careful about floods and prone to landslides.
"Not least even though the rain was moderate to heavy in Aceh, Lampung, South Sumatra, DKI Jakarta, East Kalimantan, Maluku, Papua. Aceh still has a place that is not dry yet, so it is feared that then the places that have just been affected by the flood will also run out again," he said.
Requesting Alert and Alert Communities
BNPB asks for community preparedness to be prepared. Then, the role of the local government of the TNI-Polri apparatus and BPBD should also be prepared, especially social groups.
Abdul recommends preparedness for extreme weather disasters at the community level by activating sikamling at the RT and RW levels.
"BMKG has informed that in some provinces extreme weather will decrease until the new year every night. And it should pay attention to objects if heavy rain has occurred for more than 2 hours, therefore immediately evacuate independently and the community is even required to evacuate independently," said Abdul.
