PDIP Asks Jokowi To Do A Reshuffle, PAN: No Need To Push The President
JAKARTA - The National Mandate Party (PAN) reminds all parties not to push President Joko Widodo to reshuffle the cabinet. Moreover, asking President Jokowi to evaluate certain ministers.
Chairman of the DPP PAN, Saleh Partaonan Daulay, said that only President Jokowi has the right to evaluate or not the performance of his ministers and assistants. Either regularly, periodically, or for other purposes.
"We can only wait for the president's political decision, there is no need to press and push for the president," Saleh told reporters, Tuesday, December 27.
The chairman of the PAN faction of the DPR RI, emphasized that Jokowi could reshuffle at any time because it was the prerogative of the head of state. In fact, Jokowi could remove the minister without performance reasons, but it could also be for political reasons.
"In certain cases, the president can make changes at any time. It could be a political reason, not performance. Again, it is the right and power of the president," he stressed. Previously, the Chairman of the PDIP DPP Djarot Syaiful Hidayat, asked President Jokowi to evaluate the Minister of Agriculture and the Minister of Environment and Forestry in response to a possible cabinet reshuffle. According to Djarot, the replacement was a refresher within the cabinet to fully support the policies issued by President Jokowi.
"The Minister of Agriculture is evaluated, the Minister of Forestry is evaluated, as well as all ministers must also be evaluated, so what? So that there is fresh new blood, which can fully support Pak Jokowi's policy to fulfill campaign promises," Djarot told reporters in Jakarta, Friday, December 23.
The member of Commission IV of the DPR RI then mentioned the issue of rice imports in the middle of a mixture of rice self-sufficiency. In fact, said Djarot, during the harvest season and rice prices rose, instead he imported rice.
"We have spread the kingpin self-sufficiency in rice, we import rice when the price goes up, the government should intervene. During the harvest season and the price is good, we are even beaten by rice imports," said Djarot.
The former governor of DKI Jakarta also said that the policy would have an impact on farmers. Therefore, Commission IV of the DPR RI always conveys to see if there are any data between BPS, Ministry of Agriculture, Bulog and the data held by Bappenas, the National Food Agency.
"Try to open it and put it together, we don't need to import it, he said it's still enough. What's important for us is that the price of rice is stable, the farmers can make a profit. All of this needs to be evaluated," explained Djarot.
