Wonderkid Persipura Is One Step Away From Joining Thai Club Lampang FC
JAKARTA - The club from Thailand, Lampang FC, has confirmed that the recruitment of Persipura Jayapura Wonderkid Todd Rivaldo Ferre is just waiting for the visa approval process to enter Thailand.
Rivaldo Ferre's recruitment is to fill the slot for Southeast Asian players at Lampang FC. He replaced the Myanmar striker, Aung Kaung Mann, who was officially released.
"He replaces Aung on a contract until the end of the season. He is in the process of visa approval to enter Thailand," wrote Lampang FC in his official Instagram monitored by Antara from Jakarta, Tuesday.
Lampang FC borrows Rivaldo Ferre from Persipura Jayapura until March next year. However, the player from Papua can be extended until April if Lampang FC is promoted to the highest caste of the Thai League.
The decision of the management of Persipura Jayapura to lend Todd Ferre due to the uncertainty of the current Indonesian League competition. The management hopes that Todd Ferre can gain knowledge there and apply it when he returns to Indonesia.
"Playing as an attacking midfielder and winger for the Indonesian national team, he is a player with extraordinary football skills. He has a good shot, and is accurate," said Lampang FC.
Todd Ferre himself is currently attending a training camp with the Indonesian national team for the Vietnam 2021 SEA Games. If nothing gets in the way, Todd Ferre will fly to Thailand in January next year.
The 20-year-old is not the only Indonesian player on loan at an outside club. Previously, Ryuji Utomo (Persija Jakarta) joined the Malaysian club, Penang FA.
Meanwhile in Thailand, Todd Ferre will not be alone either. He will be assisted by fellow players from Papua, namely Yanto Basna to facilitate the adaptation process. Currently, the former Persib Bandung player is defending PT Prachuap.
