A Request From The Laskar Family For A Re-autopsy Which The Police Agree With

JAKARTA - The families of six soldiers from the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) who died as a result of the police's firm action to support the National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM), which will conduct a re-autopsy as a step in investigating the case.

"We are waiting for Komnas HAM, what is clear is that the family is ready, depending on Komnas HAM's decision," said Secretary of Legal Aid DPP FPI Aziz Yanuar, Monday, December 21.

In addition, Aziz emphasized that the family would only acknowledge the results of the autopsy issued by Komnas HAM. This is because the family has never previously approved an autopsy by the police.

"Obviously we have said, we submitted it to an autopsy, not a re-autopsy, because the family does not recognize the autopsy," he said.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the DPP Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Mardani Ali Sera said, based on the results of communication with the laskar family, there was already a statement letter that they were willing to re-autopsy the body.

"Lawyers and families have prepared a statement that it is permissible if Komnas HAM wants a repeat autopsy," said Mardani.

"What I caught earlier was that his body was already autopsied, even though none of the family had given consent to carry out an autopsy step," he said.

"Earlier there was a family document agreeing that Komnas HAM requires further examination by conducting a re-autopsy. Earlier the family's approval was conveyed by a lawyer," added Mardani.

Open Police

The police responded positively to the re-autopsy plan. Polri is open and fully submits to Komnas HAM regarding the request of the laskar family to carry out a re-autopsy.

Kabareskrim Polri, Komjen Listyo Sigit Prabowo, said that his party would always assist Komnas HAM's investigation as an external supervisor. So, in the future there will be no negative perceptions behind this case.

"The principle is related to the things that are needed by Komnas HAM, of course we are always ready to give," said Komjen Listyo.

But Listyo said that so far there has been no request from Komnas HAM regarding this matter. In fact, regarding the results of the autopsy that had been carried out previously, the investigators have conveyed them transparently to Komnas HAM.

"However, we have already presented the data related to the autopsy problem. Of course, it will later be used as an assessment by Komnas HAM whether there is a need to re-autopsy or not," he said.

"Of course, later Komnas HAM will evaluate it, but in principle, if necessary, we will give the data we have to Komnas HAM," he said.

Temporary result

Apart from the plan to re-autopsy the six laskar bodies, Komnas HAM has also taken other investigative steps. For example, examining parties who are aware of this case to retrace the location of the incident.

Most recently, Komnas HAM also examined the condition of three cars that were driven by the police and FPI troops at the time of the clash. But still not able to draw an outline of the events of the clash.

"Indeed, we have not been able to conclude whether the statements conveyed by police friends at Komnas HAM are identical or not because they need further analysis," said Komnas HAM Commissioner Beka Ulung Hapsara.

Beka said, his party must re-confirm several things related to the incident. So, later a complete chronology can be formed from the beginning to the end of the event.

"Indeed, there are several things that must be followed up related to the ballistic test results, and who will shoot," he said.

"So it must require deepening, including blood checks from FPI members. Whoever is in this corner, this corner also needs further examination," he continued.

Furthermore, Beka said, his party was committed to investigating the case. So, in the future there will be no comments and prolonged mutual claims between the two parties.

"We are also committed with my friends to also have follow-up studies related to what I have said," he said.
