Governor Khofifah: NU has great potential to revive the people's economy

East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa revealed that the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) organization has great potential for the economic revival of the people.

The governor said NU had a power known as Nahdlatut Tujjar (the rise of traders), the NU Economic Institution, NU Agricultural Institution, and other economic incubation. The East Java Provincial Government is ready to assist and support the program.

"The East Java Provincial Government is ready to compete in implementing policies, both in production and distribution of goods and services, including in the One Islamic Boarding School One Product (OPOP) network, hebitren that are made and driven from pesantren," said Governor Khofifah as quoted by Antara, Sunday, December 25.

In the Regional Working Conference (Muskerwil) of the East Java Nahdlatul Ulama Regional Management (PWNU) for the solemn period 2018-2023 which was held at the Mojosari Islamic Boarding School, Ngepeh Village, Loceret District, Nganjuk Regency, Governor Khofifah explained, on December 22, 2022, the East Java Provincial Government launched 1,000 OPOP Digipreneur students.

This is also to prioritize all entrepreneurial potential owned by Islamic boarding schools in East Java to be more productive.

According to him, the presence of the Provincial Government together with various strategic elements in this province, especially NU, is a commitment that the East Java Provincial Government is always ready to get guidance from the kiai, as well as strengthen the pesantren as the development epicenter in East Java which provides development references with moderation and tolerance. full of peace and harmony.

Carrying the theme "Empowering the Second Century Nahdatul Ulama Towards a New Awakening", Governor Khofifah said he was optimistic that NU could strengthen the government's strategic partnership umbrella in the success of the development program set, especially programs in fostering people to form quality human resources (HR), character and noble character.

He also congratulated the East Java PWNU Muskerwil. He hopes that NU will remain an organization that is able to build optimism for its members to continue to rise.

"Congratulations and success at the East Java PWNU Muskerwil event in Nganjuk this time. The hope is that NU will become an organization that will continue to be able to build member optimism to continue to rise and develop, both social, cultural, economic and other strategic sectors," said the Governor.

Meanwhile, Deputy Secretary General of PBNU Ahmad Muzakki expressed his admiration for the solidity exposed to the East Java PWNU environment.

According to him, this greatness and unity is still difficult to find in other regions in Indonesia. He hopes that it will continue to be nurtured.

"Both in terms of numbers and others, this is something we cannot find in other PWNUs. In this way, of course we must support all the national East Java PWNU programs," said Ahmad Muzakki.

The East Java PWNU Muskerwil was attended by 45 NU branches in East Java, autonomous bodies and institutions within the East Java PWNU.
