10 Houses In Pulo Hangus Village Burned, 128 Souls Forced To Extect
As many as 50 families (KK) fled after their residences located in Pulo Village, RT012/RW02 and RT013/RW04, Kampung Melayu Village, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta, were destroyed by fire on Christmas 2022, Sunday, December 25, afternoon.
This 50 families consisting of 128 people were forced to flee in refugee emergency tents.
Almost all the property of hundreds of residents was burned to the ground without any remains. The cause of the fire is also not certain.
However, from the results of the data collection check, the fire burned 10 permanent buildings belonging to residents.
A fire was reported by one resident to the fire station at around 11.19 WIB. A total of 16 fire engines were dispatched to the location.
"A total of 65 personnel participated in the fire extinguishing process. After arriving at 11.27 WIB, firefighters immediately extinguished them. The fire was successfully localized at 12.30 WIB," said Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman when confirmed by VOI, Sunday.
After being successfully localized, the fire began to cool down, precisely at 12.51 WIB. The fire was extinguished at 13.53 WIB.
"Losses are estimated at 1.5 billion. The temporary cause of the fire at a resident's house came from one of the houses left by the occupants," he said.
The flames scorched 10 houses belonging to Hj Laila, H Soleh, Obi, Ustaz Ahmad, SelAMEt, Fuad, Yayang, Rian, Eko and Teh Men.
"The area burned was 500 square meters. The fire spread because initially residents saw a fire on the 2nd floor of a semi-permanent house in RT 12/03, Pulo Village, Jatinegara. The fire then grew and burned the building next to it," he said.
