There Are Many Electric Vehicle Developments, SMK Students In Jombang Make Cars Solar Powered

JOBBANG - A student at SMK Budi Utomo, Gadingmangu Village, Perak District, Jombang Regency, East Java, managed to assemble a solar-powered electric car. The manufacture of solar electric cars is carried out to hone the skills of the students.

The car has been exhibited and tested at the SMK mini expo event in Jombang. Even though the car is a simple car, the vehicle can still go well.

Student of SMK Budi Utomo Gadingmangu, Dika Dwi Darmawan, who is one of the team that manufactures solar electric cars, explained that this car is more environmentally friendly and fuel-efficient (BBM).

"This car uses solar power to supply battery charging. The advantage is not to use fuel, so it doesn't have to be at a gas station (SPBU)," he said, as reported by Antara, Sunday, December 25.

He also explained that the operation of this car was not difficult. Cars can be filled with special panels that have been made.

"This is easily accessible. It can be charged with battery when the car stops and can be used when the panel is turned off. The battery when it is full is 64.8 volts and can power about 60 kilometers," he said.

Chairman of the Education Foundation Budi Utomo Gadingmangu Perak, Jombang Regency, Wildy Istimror said, the school aims to provide the best skills to help students. "In today, the latest technology is solar power," he said.

He is also optimistic that the skills provided will make students more skilled.

"We believe that children already have the skills to design, assemble and build an electric car, meaning they have carried out activities and skills that are in accordance with the current technology in the world," he said.

For now, his party is also still focused on providing lessons to these children. Cars are made as educational materials and there are no mass production plans.

However, said Wildy Istimror, it is also planned that another car will be made as a refinement of the previous car.
