Join The Position Of The Big 8 BWF, Apri/Fadia Don't Want To Fast Fast FastNESS With This Year's Achievement
JAKARTA - The pair Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti became Indonesia's flagship in the women's doubles sector. Both set high targets in the 2023 competition season.
Apri/Fadia set a target to enter the top eight at the Badminton World Federation (BWF) ranking. This target has been taken into account after seeing the performance of the 2022 season.
Fadia said they did not want to be complacent with the achievements they had achieved in their debut year.
"From the results this year, you must not feel satisfied, you still have to want more. Hopefully next year you can enter the 'top eight'," said Fadia, as reported by Antara, Sunday, December 25.
Based on BWF records on its official website, the women's doubles Apri/Fadia made positive progress in the 50th week of 2022. They rose two positions to rank 12th in the world.
Apri/Fadia appeared for the first time as a couple on the Vietnam SEA Games agenda, May. After that, they immediately stole the attention of domestic and foreign badminton lovers after officially appearing in the series of BWF Super Series tournaments through their ability to beat a superior partner.
Only by playing nine BWF tournaments which began with the Indonesia Masters in June, Apri/Fadia, which were originally ranked 210, shot up to 12th in just six months.
For Fadia, his hard work with Apri deserves to be inner satisfaction which must be processed as motivation in order to play consistently.
"From me, there must be satisfaction for myself, I want to appreciate myself. Hopefully next year it can be even higher (increased)," said Fadia.
Although the 2022 competition was quite smooth, Apri/Fadia began to encounter obstacles towards the end of the year. In the last few matches, Apri/Fadia actually lost to the opponents they were able to overcome in the first meeting.
Fadia assessed that opponents at the "top level" had begun to understand their pattern and game strategy so that they could anticipate it on the ground.
"We also evaluated yesterday's results, we chatted with Koh Didi (Eng Hian) and the team. Indeed, playing at the world level is not easy, so indeed we have to be smart in increasing variations in game patterns," said Fadia.
