The Police Said About The Statement Of Lawyer Brigadier J 'Police Mengabdi To Mafia'

JAKARTA - The National Police have spoken about the statement by the family lawyer Brigadier J, Kamaruddin Simanjuntak, regarding his statement that "the police are serving the mafia".

The Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, said that all parties, including Kamaruddin, were free to have opinions. However, later the statement will be investigated by the police.

This is because Kamaruddin Simanjuntak has been reported to the South Jakarta Metro Police for allegedly spreading false news.

"Please handle it by Polda investigators professionally and procedurally according to HAP (Criminal Procedures, ed) and Perkap 6 of 2019," said Dedi when confirmed, Saturday, December 24.

"Because all the provisions have been regulated in it, including in the 2014 Constitutional Court Decree," he continued.

Meanwhile, Kamaruddin Simanjuntak had mentioned that the average police in Indonesia served the mafia. He joked that many members of the National Police only served the country a week, while the rest served the mafia.

Kamaruddin made this statement while talking to Uya Kuya on the YouTube channel podcast Uya Kuya TV.

"This is magical. So we cannot live hypocritically. That's why the average assets are tens of billions to hundreds of billions to trillions," said Kamaruddin.

In fact, due to this statement, Kamaruddin Simanjuntak and Uya Kuya were policed to the South Jakarta Metro Police. The report is registered with the number LP/5020/XII/2022/RJS dated December 22, 2022.

In the report, Kamaruddin and Uya Kuya were suspected of Article 28 (2) in conjunction with Article 45 (2) of the ITE Law article 14, 15 Law no. 1 of 1946 in conjunction with Article 207 of the Criminal Code regarding the spread of hoax news through social media.
