Ancol Closed During Christmas And New Year Holidays

JAKARTA - Management of Taman Impian Jaya Ancol Jakarta closes services for visitors during the Christmas 2020 and New Year 2021 holidays. The closure is to avoid crowds during the pandemic.

President Director of PT Taman Impian Jaya Ancol, Teuku Sahir Syahali, in his statement on Monday, December 18 stated that the closure of the service was an effort to support measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

In addition, the provision of temporary closure is based on the results of meetings to discuss the plan to close crowded places at Christmas 2020 and New Year 2021 with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and the North Jakarta City Government.

The closure is based on the call of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Number 17 of 2020 and the Instruction of the Governor of the Province of DKI Jakarta Number 64 of 2020 concerning the implementation of controlling community activities in preventing COVID-19 during the Christmas holidays 2020 and New Year 2021. The temporary closure will be carried out on 25 December , 31 December 2020 and 1 January 2021.

Sahir stated that all recreational units such as beaches, Dunia Fantasi, Sea World Ancol, Ocean Dream Samudra, Pasar Seni, Allianz Ecopark, as well as all rides and restaurants partners are not operating.

Meanwhile Ancol continues to open the Putri Duyung Resort service by making a reservation in advance through the official website www.ancol.com. In addition, the marina wharf service within the Ancol area continues to operate for people who are crossing to the Thousand Islands.

Sahir hopes that the public can support this policy, because he said, this step is the most appropriate to be done during the pandemic.

"It is better for us to enjoy the Christmas and New Year holidays together at home to make it safer and avoid COVID-19," said Sahir as quoted by Antara.
