Residents Of Amuk Car Drivers Involved In Running Collis In Jatinegara
JAKARTA - A number of residents abused a Kijang Innova car driver with plate B 1707 POA for allegedly being involved in a hit-and-run on Jalan MT Haryono, Bidara Cina Village, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta on Friday night.
An eye witness, Daman said the incident began when the car driven by the perpetrator drove from the Cawang Station area, South Jakarta to Jalan Letjen MT Haryono, Bidara Cina Village.
"The driver of the car first hit a motorbike at Tebet Station, but it didn't stop right away. He ran away, being chased by residents," Daman said, quoting Antara.
Daman added that the driver of the car allegedly hit a number of motorcyclists while trying to escape.
It was even reported that one of the victims was run over and suffered serious head injuries. Instead of being responsible to the victim, the car driver stepped on the gas towards Jalan Otista Raya.
"Maybe he wanted to run towards Otista, but because the red light was jammed, it hit again. Then stopped the car. In total there were more than three motorbikes that were hit," said Daman.
Daman explained that when he arrived at the red light of the MT Haryono Flyover, the driver of the car along with three passengers who were in the vehicle had been beaten by residents who were emotional.
Amuk warga baru berhenti setelah mengetahui bahwa di dalam mobil terdapat seorang anak kecil, dan pendriver diamankan jajaran Unit Reskrim Polsek Jatinegara.
"The worst victim was in front of Indomobil (Jalan Letjen MT Haryono). Until it was run over because someone said he died but didn't know what his condition was," said Daman.
