Bogor Prohibited Use Of Petasan On New Year's Eve, Bima Arya: Potential Fire, Don't Waste Money
BOGOR - Worried of a fire, and other unwanted events, the Bogor City Government (Pemkot) banned its citizens from using firecrackers during New Year's Eve celebrations.
"Prohibiting the use of firecrackers in celebrations that have the potential to cause fires," said the Mayor of Bogor, Bima Arya in a written statement, Friday, December 23.
Furthermore, Bima also said that the Bogor Police would conduct raids related to the circulation of firecrackers.
"For firecrackers, the police will carry out raids and we urge you not to waste money, the potential for accidents. We make sure that's the case and please understand it all," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of Ops. Bogor City Police, Kompol Prasetyo Purbo Nurcahyo said there were 1,203 officers from the police, the TNI and the Bogor City Government who were going to go down to hold a raid on firecrackers.
In addition, the Bogor City Police will establish 1 integrated post, 6 PAM posts in 6 sub-districts, 10 tourist stop security posts and 12 patrol stops.
