Unlike The World Cup Finals, This Time Jokowi Will Watch The Indonesia Vs Cambodia Match At GBK
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo admitted that he would watch the match between the Indonesian national team (timnas) and Cambodia in the AFF Cup Group A match at the Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta.
"I want to watch," said President Jokowi at the Sukamahi Dam location, Bogor district, West Java on Friday, December 23, as reported by Antara.
The match between the two teams is planned to take place at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK) starting at 16.30 WIB.
The All-Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) determined that in this afternoon's match the stadium was only filled with less than 25,000 spectators.
Indonesia and Cambodia's last meeting took place in the group phase of the 2020 AFF Cup. At that time Indonesia defeated Cambodia with a score of 4-2.
PSSI General Chair Mochamad Iriawan, who is familiarly called Iwan Bule, also said that he had made preparations ahead of the Indonesia vs Cambodia match, starting from the readiness of the stewards who would help smooth the game, the stands, simulations of the entry of spectators, venue operations centers, ambulances, to checking toilet cleanliness.
According to him, the facilities in SUGBK are indeed supportive so it will be easier to monitor all movements, especially since this stadium will be one of the locations for next year's U-20 World Cup matches.
The SUGBK inspection was also carried out by Paspampres so that everything went smoothly considering that Indonesia's match against Cambodia was the first match in the SUBGK with a limited audience.
The former Metro Jaya Police Chief appealed to spectators at SUGBK not to carry bags that were too big and items that were considered to be disturbing matches such as flares, conventional cigarettes and e-cigarettes and bottled drinks.
Since 1995, the Indonesian national team has met Cambodia 17 times. As a result, the "Garuda" squad won 16 matches and one other match ended in a draw.
