Ducati Boss Akui Titel MotoGP Champion Bagnaia Is Better THANpat Milik Stoner's
JAKARTA - Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali said that Francesco Bagnaia's MotoGP title was much better with home-made referrals.
Ducati's MotoGP world title collection has finally increased to two. After Stoner won his inaugural title in 2007, the Italian manufacturer finally won again with Bagnaia in 2022.
Bagnaia's efforts to win the title were fairly fierce, this Italian racer had to compete fiercely with the Yamaha rider, Fabio Quartararo until the last series.
At first, Bagnaia had a disappointing first half of the season, but he bounced back after retired at Sachsenring. Bagnaia slowly cut the gap with Quartararo after winning five of the nine races.
In the Valencia MotoGP series that became the determinant, Bagnaia actually only finished in ninth position. However, the total point was 17 points ahead of Quartararo's, the result clearly made Bagnaia the world champion for the 2022 season.
That moment became Domenicali's record. He said the title that Bagnaia won in 2022 was achieved in an unusual and clearly better way than Stoner's travel record in 2007.
"It was an unforgettable season. We've never had such a result before, and it's a great pride," Domenicali was quoted as saying by GPOne on Thursday, December 22.
"It's different from the 2007 season, when we won the MotoGP title with (Casey) Stoner but we achieved it before the last race,"
"Winning with Pecco is really difficult, a great chase makes it even better than the previous championship record," said the boss.
