Dolken Duke Is Happy To Be The Enemy Of Vino G Bastian In The Magic Baby Film

JAKARTA - Vino G Bastian and Adipati Dolken shared their experiences of acting in the remake of the horror film Baby Ajaib. This Falcon Black film is a remake of a legendary film in the 80s era.For Vino, re-entering a horror film, especially a film that is a remake of a legendary Indonesian horror film, is an honor. He revealed that he used to watch that film in the late 1980s.“ I watched this film at the end of the ‘80s and that year, this film was really scary. Now this film is becoming a ‘cult’, interesting, and just being remake, it's been a great thing. His first film also stars great actors,” Vino said at a press conference in Jakarta, Wednesday, December 21.“ For me, when I can remake a legendary film, this is an honor for me and all of us. The hope is that it can be a tribute or a role in the original film in 1982, and can be an intergenerational link, ” he added.Agreeing, Adipati Dolken is happy with his involvement in this first horror film. After struggling in the drama genre and always being the protagonist, Adipati admits that he is challenged when he is trusted to play the antagonist.“ This is my first film to become an antagonist and I am happy to be able to experience this. Hopefully this film can also be a refresher in the midst of many horror films in Indonesia,” said the actor who is also familiarly called Dodot.For him, playing the antagonist expands his boundaries and creativity as an actor.“ When it became the protagonist, there were many lines that you couldn't cross. But when you become an antagonist, people have problems, the limit (so) is big. In terms of process and creativity, it must be used, even though the circle when you become antagonist is bigger,” he said.Meanwhile, the Magic Baby is the debut of the production house Falcon Black. This film was directed by Rako Prijanto, and was his first experience working on the horror genre.“ A pride for me because me-remake ‘ baby Ajaib ’, this is the attribute of an Indonesian horror film that has triumphed and will triumph again. The challenge now is to translate this cult horror into contemporary in terms of content and taste, ” Rako said.Apart from starring Vino and Adipati, this film also collaborated with Desy Ratnasari, Sara Fajira, Rifnu Wikana Rayhanani V, Anantya Kirana and Wilem Bevers in the line of players. The Magic baby is scheduled to hit Indonesian cinemas on January 19, 2023.
