"We are launching the Indonesian Digital Society Index, this is one of the follow-ups or follow-ups of the results of the G20 Summit in Bali, especially in the digital transformation sector," said Minister of Communication and Information Johnny G. Plate in a statement on the Kominfo website.
Johnny also added that the IMDI survey was the first survey to use recommended or adopted toolkits at the G20 Summit.
According to Kominfo, IMDI is measured from four important pillars which include pillars of infrastructure and ecosystems, pillars of digital skills, pillars of empowerment and also work pillars.

From this value, it provides indications that Indonesia still needs to make various improvements to the four pillars of the IMD.
Johnny also admitted that one of Indonesia's challenges was related to empowerment pillars. Therefore, the Government is making use of digital technology from upstream to downstream to be more productive.
The empowerment title is found to be the lowest. This is a challenge in the future to continue to be improved from downstreaming, considering that this effort is in line with President Joko Widodo's directives," he said.
