Many Are Nominated To Be The Next Chairman Of PSSI, President MU: I'm Still Waiting

YOGYAKARTA - The President of Madura United, Achsanul Qosasi, has recently been nominated as PSSI General Chair (Ketum) replacing Mochamad Iriawan.

Rumors about Achsanul surfaced following PSSI's plan to accelerate the Extraordinary Congress (KLB) to find a replacement for the PSSI General Chair and the Executive Committee (Exco).

The agenda was originally scheduled for November 2024, but was moved forward to February 16. Before the KLB is held, PSSI will first form the Electoral Committee (KP).

Approaching the date of the KLB, Achsanul is considered a strong candidate to lead PSSI. This was driven by his work which has also been involved in Indonesian football for a long time.

The Madura United boss did not deny the rumors, he greeted him well. Even though Achsanul has not decided to run for office, he is still enthusiastic about waiting for the nomination requirements that will be announced by the KP.

"Yes, there are those who mention my name (as a candidate to replace the chairman of PSSI) who also received support from Persipura," said Achsanul in response to rumors when met at the Sultan Agung Stadium, Bantul after Madura United's match, Tuesday, December 20.

"I'm just happy but I'm waiting for the KP's requirements to run. If it already exists, then I can decide whether to go forward or not," Achsanul added.

Achsanul said he was also enthusiastic about running for the nomination. But the main thing that concerns him is the matter of requirements.

Because according to this 55-year-old man, the results of the KP's decision regarding the requirements will determine the next steps to be taken.

"Because of the requirements from them (KP) I don't know yet, if I'm too enthusiastic, it's not good either because maybe I don't meet the requirements. If that (the requirements) have been (defined) then we decide whether to go forward or not," he explained.
