The Price Of Chicken Eggs In Jakarta Is Rp. 10 Thousand/Kg, But Only Certain Groups Can Enjoy
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government provides a subsidy for the price of broiler eggs to Rp10 thousand per kilogram for certain groups of people through subsidized food programs.
"We held a coordination meeting of TPID (Regional Inflation Control Team) to discuss the development of regional inflation. Of course, there were several basic commodities that rose, such as eggs and rice, but were not significant," said Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono while chairing an inflation control meeting at Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday, December 20.
Certain community groups include Jakarta Work Card holders, Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) Plus, Jakarta elderly people with disabilities, flat residents, to honorary teachers.
Based on Info Pangan Jakarta, the average price of broiler eggs in DKI per kilogram on Tuesday reached IDR 30,869 per kilogram.
The highest price of broiler eggs in West Tebet Market reaches IDR 33,000 per kilogram and the lowest is in Mampang Prapatan Market, IDR 28,000 per kilogram.
The DKI Department of Food, Maritime and Agriculture Security (KPKP) said the highest increase in food demand occurred in chicken eggs by 12.72 percent since a few days before religious holidays and the new year.
Apart from religious holidays, the increase in the price of broiler eggs was driven by an increase in the price of animal feed and the use of eggs as routine social assistance and natural disaster assistance which encouraged high demand.
In addition to the price of chicken eggs, the DKI Provincial Government said that the price of IR III medium rice has also increased since October 2022.
The price increase was due to the increase in the price of milled dry unhulled rice (GKG) at the milling level, which was triggered by an increase in rice production costs, including fertilizers, seeds and medicines and limited supply because it had not yet entered the harvest period.
For this reason, through the DKI BUMD, the Tjipinang Jaya Food Station collaborates with the Banten Jakarta Regional Division of Bulog to distribute medium rice since October 2022 and is planned to continue until February 2023.
In addition, it also distributes premium types of rice to subsidized food activities for certain communities.
To anticipate the increase in food prices, the DKI Provincial Government together with the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) and the Food Security Task Force carry out direct supervision to the field to check prices, availability, production and distribution of food needs.
Then, cooperate with local governments that have a surplus of food commodities in order to maintain price stability and availability and conduct cheap markets, cheap bazaars.
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, he said, is increasing synergies to maintain food security ahead of Christmas and the new year.
Heru also ensured that the quality food supply for the people of Jakarta was in a stable condition, and food prices were maintained and affordable by the people of Jakarta.
