Territorial Operations Is An Action To Embrace The Community, Know The Differences With Military Operations
The territorial operation is an action taken by the TNI with the aim of embracing the community. Through this operation, the TNI will take a humanist and firm approach to violations of the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia in Papua.
This was conveyed by the TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono after the handover ceremony for the position of TNI Commander at the TNI Headquarters, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, Tuesday, December 20, 2022.
"(The territorial operation) continues, we are still carrying out in accordance with the territorial apparatus there, such as the Kodim, Korem, Koramil, with the existing strength. Of course we continue to carry out territorial operations there," said Yudo.
According to Yudo, the Papuan people really need support from the TNI. Therefore, he will continue territorial operations.
"Especially schools, he said, many teachers left the place. This is mandatory for the TNI to be there. Then there is less public transportation, we help, so that community social activities continue to run," said the TNI Commander.
He added that the TNI will assist the Police in law enforcement in Papua.
"And of course we are more advanced towards the law, so that later it will be for those who cause trouble, the term violates the law, of course, what disturbs the community, we will arrest and hand it over to the Police because that is where the law enforcement operation is," he said.
