Benzema scored Real's opener in the match and provided assists for the other two goals scored by Luka Modric and Lucas Vazquez, while the hosts were only able to reply once through Kike, Antara noted on the official Spanish League website.

The victory made Real stick to city rivals, Atletico Madrid, with 29 points. However, the goal difference meant that Real had to settle for second place in the standings, while Eibar was stuck at 14th with 15 points.

Benzema opened Real's lead just six minutes after the start, completing Rodrygo Goes' through ball to beat goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic.

Then in the 13th minute, Benzema sent a bait Modric perfectly completed to the ceiling of the home goal to double Real's lead.

Three minutes later, Benzema had the chance to score his second goal, but he wasted a golden opportunity on Modric's post with a header that went off the mark.

Eibar made their way back in the 28th minute when Kike curled a shot from outside the area that goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois couldn't anticipate.

In the 36th minute, Benzema found the home side again but his goal was ruled out as he was already in an offside position when Toni Kroos sent in.

At the end of the first half, Vazquez ended the wave of counter-attacks by beating Dmitrovic, unfortunately the ball was cleared by Pedro Bigas before crossing the line.

The second half was dominated by Real but they were not able to create a good chance until finally in the second minute of injury time.
