Anthony Joshua Wants To Duel Against Deontay Wilder Realized: A Battle Must OCCUR!

JAKARTA Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua wants his fight against Deontay Wilder to come true before the two big names retire from boxing.

Joshua is said to be returning to the ring next year. He wants to recover from two consecutive defeats against Oleksandr Usyk, the latest on August 20 at King Abdullah Sports City, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Wilder was also included in one of his favorite opponents after his planned fight with Tyson Fury which was supposed to happen on December 3 yesterday failed to be held.

"I've always said [that] we are in the same division, we are in the same era. That means fighting must happen," Joshua said, quoted by Boxing Scene, Tuesday, December 20, 2022.

Wilder, who is a former WBC world champion, returned to the ring last October. He recorded a brutal knockout victory against Robert Helenius.

However, at this time Wilder's return schedule is unknown. However, he was recently told to face former unification champion Andy Ruiz for the final stage of the WBC belt. "It's been a big year for boxing. We're all top of our division and that fight is bound to happen and bring a lot of bright spots to the heavyweight division," said Joshua.

So far Joshua Eddie Hearn's promoter has been in contact with Wilder's co-manager,▁keputusan Finkel. Communications both lead to a positive side to the fight plans.

"If fights can't be done one way, they have to find other ways. Contracting sometimes is difficult, but if it's not difficult, you must see [the duel happens]," Hearn said.

In addition to the plan against Wilder, Anthony Joshua has also mentioned several other names that are ready to be faced. Among them are Otto Wallin, Dillian Whyte, and Filip Hrgovic.
