Commission I Of The House Of Representatives (DPR) To Yudo Margono: Successfully Become TNI Commander In A Warming Political Situation Ahead Of 2024
JAKARTA - Admiral Yudo Margono has officially become the TNI Commander. Commission I of the DPR asked Yudo to maintain the dignity of the TNI as the state institution most trusted by the public.
"The leadership of the TNI is needed to be strong, tough, and professional. So that the dignity of the TNI remains as the state institution most trusted by the public," said Member of Commission I of the DPR PKS faction Al Muzzammil to reporters, Monday, December 19.
Yudo was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo at the State Palace in Jakarta today, Monday 19 December. Yudo became TNI Commander replacing General Andika Perkasa who retired at the end of 2022.
Muzammil also hopes that Yudo, who holds the position of TNI Commander in the political year, will be able to stabilize the situation and conditions in the country.
"I hope he succeeds in becoming the TNI Commander in a national political situation that tends to warm towards 2024," he said.
Yudo will also face challenges related to the global crisis that may occur in 2023. He also asked Yudo to be vigilant but optimistic about living it. "Also successfully facing regional and international situations that are militaryly and economically not doing well," said Muzammil.
Meanwhile, a member of Commission I of the DPR from the Golkar faction, Bobby Adhityo Rizaldi, welcomed the inauguration of Admiral Yudo Margono as TNI Commander. He considered that it was time to change the TNI Commander no longer referring to the matra supremation but in accordance with the turn between the AD, AU and AL. It is time for President Jokowi's leadership to 2024, the TNI commander to be determined to take turns in two dimensions. Apart from being in accordance with Law 34/2004 concerning the TNI, there is no supremacy among the three existing dimensions, so that synergy increases," said Bobby, Monday, December 19.
Bobby reminded Yudo as the TNI Commander to formulate technical policies and the use of the TNI's force in carrying out the task of assisting conflict management. "In terms of using the strength of the TNI, the TNI Commander is responsible to the president," he said. Laksana Yudo Margono will serve for 11 months as TNI Commander because he entered retirement in November 2023.
