Update On COVID-19 As Of December 20: Positive Cases 6,982, Negative 5,551 Cases
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) has released data on developments in handling COVID-19. Based on examination of 48,134 specimens, 6,982 new positive cases were found.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 664,930 people," quoted from data from the Ministry of Health, Sunday, December 20.
Meanwhile, the number of recovered cases increased by 5,551, so the total was 541,811 people who recovered from COVID-19. Meanwhile, the number of cases died increased by 221 to 19,880 people.
On the other hand, provincial data with the highest number of positive cases were in DKI Jakarta. Based on data, 1,592 people in the capital have tested positive for COVID-19. So that the total residents who have been infected have become 163,111 people.
Then, other provinces with a high number of positive cases were still in West Java with 1,052 cases. Then, Central Java with 878 cases and East Java with 742 cases.
Meanwhile, the province with the most recovered cases is also occupied by DKI Jakarta with 1,878 cases. Then, West Java with 1,186 cases, and East Java with 794 cases.
So far there is one province that has reported no additional cases and 3 provinces that have added cases below 10. Among them, Aceh, Riau Islands, and Gorontalo.
In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 6,786,585. In detail, as many as 6,669,947 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 116,638 specimens using molecular rapid tests (TCM).
"For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it is recorded at 66,702 people. Currently, 510 districts / cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases," he wrote.
