The Bodies Of Workers At The Jurassic Park Project On Rinca Island Were Torn To Pieces By The Komodo Dragon

JAKARTA - A worker at the Jurassic Park resort on Rinca Island, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) was reportedly attacked by a Komodo dragon. The native inhabitants of the island are said to have tore several parts of the worker's body.

The worker named Elias Agas. He works for a resort in the Komodo Island area which is under construction.

Quoted from news.com.au, Elias was then rushed to the nearest hospital. He was taken away from Rinca Island by speedboat.

The Jurassic Park construction project on Rinca Island has sparked controversy. Last year, a discourse was raised on the prohibition of tourists from visiting Rinca Island to protect endangered Komodo dragons.

However, Indonesia rejected the plan. The government said it would limit visitor numbers and increase entry prices to create "premium destinations".

Under the administration of Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Indonesia is working to increase the number of tourist arrivals to the island. Now, the remaining thousand to three thousand Komodo dragons around the world are under threat.

The Komodo dragon is the largest wild reptile in the world. It can grow up to three meters in size and weigh up to 90 kilograms. Komodo bites are also known to be fatal if not treated quickly.

Regarding Elias's attack, eyewitnesses said the giant lizard was a few meters away before attacking Elias.
