Ahead Of The Closing Of The Year, Bank Indonesia Calls The Distribution Of Banking Loans Continues To Increase

JAKARTA Bank Indonesia (BI) said that lending by banks is indicated to increase before the close of the 2022 financial year. This assumption is reflected in the Weighted Net Balance (SBT) for new credit distribution in November of 58.6 percent or higher than the October SBT of 32.8 percent.

Head of the BI Communication Department Erwin Haryono said the main factors that influence the estimated distribution of new credit were customer financing requests, monetary and economic conditions prospects, as well as levels of business competition from other banks.

"Meanwhile, for the entire period of the fourth quarter of 2022, new credit growth is expected to increase compared to the previous quarter," he said in a press release today, Monday, December 19.

According to Erwin, the value of the new credit disbursement SBT is estimated at 89.1 percent higher than 84.5 percent in the third quarter of 2022.

Then, the request for corporate financing in November 2022 indicated positive growth. This is illustrated by the corporate financing SBT of 13.2 percent.

"The majority of sources of financing are mainly met from their own funds, followed by additional new credit to domestic banks, utilization of withdrawal concession facilities, and loans/debts from the parent company," he said.

Erwin added, on the household side, the demand for new financing is also indicated to grow positively in November 2022.

He said, the majority of households chose commercial banks as the main source of additional financing that was monitored to increase compared to the previous month. Meanwhile, the majority of types of financing proposed by households are Multi Guna Credit.

"Other financing sources that become respondents' preferences to meet financing needs include cooperatives and leasing," Erwin concluded.
