The Accident Of The Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Rail Project, 2 Chinese Foreigners DIEd
JAKARTA - The accident of the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Rail (KCJB) project in Bandung claimed lives. Two foreign nationals (WNA) from China died.
Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Pol. Dedi Prasetyo said the two victims who died as a result of the accident were Chinese citizens who worked as technicians.
"That's right (China foreigner), information from the West Java Regional Police, technical workers," said Dedi, quoted from Antara, Monday, December 19.
In addition to the two people who died, it was also reported that four other people were seriously injured.
Based on preliminary information, the two victims who died were men named Chang Shin Shang (40) and Chang Shin Yung (36).
Meanwhile, four injured were also male, three of whom were identified as Wang Jiji, Chiver Thencang, and Chao Qianyo; while another identity has not been identified.
The KCJB accident occurred on Sunday, December 18 at around 16.00 WIB while installing the rail.
The motorcycle of the high-speed train was speeding from the Bojong Koneng tweet area, Bandung. Arriving at the scene, in Cempaka Mekar Village, the train was released from the end of the rail that was being installed. As a result, collisions with technical trains were inevitable.
Previously, the National Police dispatched a team from the Forensic Laboratory Center (Puslabfor) and the Indonesia Automatic Fingerprint Identification System (Inafis) to check for the high-speed train accident. The Inafis team has identified the victims, both dead and injured.
West Java Police investigators have also examined 18 witnesses who were questioned regarding the incident. The police together with related ministries and institutions checked to determine the cause of the accident, including involving the National Transportation Safety Committee (NTSC) and other experts.
