Patimban International Port Operates First Tomorrow

JAKARTA - Patimban International Port in Subang, West Java, tomorrow will carry out a limited operation as well as a soft launch. The Directorate General of Sea Transportation continues to make final preparations to ensure activities run well.

"The construction of the Patimban International Port car terminal has been completed and is ready to operate on a limited basis," said Director General of Sea Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation, R. Agus H. Purnomo, quoted by Antara, Saturday, December 19.

Along with the soft launching and initial operation of the Patimban International Port, the first export of vehicles from Patimban Port will also be carried out in the form of 140 cars using the MV Ship. Suzuka Express owned by PT Toyofuji Shipping Co., Ltd for Brunei Darussalam.

"Currently the MV. Suzuka Express has docked at Patimban Port which is directly escorted by 2 KPLP Patrol Boats, namely KN Alugara and KN. "You get sick when you enter the sea channel of Patimban Port," said Agus.

For information, the MV. Suzuka Express is a Panama-flagged vessel which has specifications including GT weight. 43,810, length 180 m, beam 30 m, draft 7.7 m, and has a speed (heading) of 14.6 knots.

Agus hopes that the presence of Patimban Port will further enliven and stimulate national economic activities in general, as well as for the surrounding community in particular.
