GORONTALO - Head of the Gorontalo Province Search and Rescue Office I Made Junetra said his party rescued four residents who were adrift in the waters of Tomini Bay.The rescue action began when the Search Office communication officer received information from one of the victims regarding the dead boat engine. As a result, four residents in the boat needed to be evacuated on Thursday.Three residents came from Marisa District, Pohuwato Regency, namely Mulyana Andika Putra (28), Sarifudin Minio (30), and Seno (30), and one resident of Popayato District, Alan Monoarfa (31).The four residents are in Southern waters to fish around Lahe Island, Pohuwato Regency"However, only one hour of fishing at night, suddenly bad weather occurred, namely big waves and strong winds, they did not have time to take shelter on Lahe Island because the boat engine died," he said, quoted from Antara, December 16.His party immediately responded to the report and focused the search around Lahe Island, using a Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) which was previously in Pohuwato waters.The search process did not take long, because officers were able to find victims and evacuate them to land.“ They are declared safe and have been returned to their respective families,” he added.He hopes that all residents are aware of changes in the weather, especially when carrying out activities in the waters.
