PONTIANAK - The West Kalimantan (Kalbar) Police arrested a young man with the origin of RDS (21), for attacking police officers who were trying to disperse the 1812 crowd in Pontianak. The act of beating the officer was also viral on social media.

"When police officers dispersed the mass of the action on Friday (18/12) yesterday, two Pontianak Police personnel received unpleasant treatment, in the form of attacks and mistreatment," said Head of Public Relations of the West Kalimantan Regional Police, Kombes Pol Donny Charles Go, quoted from Antara, Saturday, December 19. .

He explained that two police officers were victims of persecution from the 1812 demonstration in Pontianak while trying to disperse the crowd, and both are currently being hospitalized at the Bhayangkara Hospital.

Donny added, chronologically, the protesters started burning tires on roads in the East Pontianak area, to be precise at the junction of Jalan Tanjung Raya.

"Because the action caused traffic obstruction and could be a means of provocation, the officers who were not far from the location made efforts to suppress and disperse the masses," he said.

However, he continued, when officers tried to extinguish the fire, suddenly they were attacked in the form of punches, kicks to beatings with blunt objects. "The victim's condition has bruises on several parts of the body," said Donny.

"Currently the perpetrators of the beatings and assaults have been secured by officers of the General Criminal Investigation Directorate of the West Kalimantan Regional Police or at night or not long after the incident," he also said.

He said that currently the perpetrator is still being examined by officers and development is being carried out. The perpetrator is threatened with being subject to Article 170 of the Criminal Code, sub-article 351 of the Criminal Code.
