Google No Intention Of Singi ChatGPT, Celebrating Above Everything!
JAKARTA - Recently, the internet universe has been enlivened by the launch of an AI chatbot, a ChatGPT which is claimed to soon take over old search engines such as Search, owned by Google.
However, Google said it was reluctant to overtake ChatGPT because it did not yet have the appropriate technology to display to users.
ChatGPT was created by OpenAI, a research company and created DALLE.2 which is an AI art generator. ChatGPT is a natural language processing tool driven by AI technology. With this, users can start conversations like humans with chatbots.
Language models can answer questions, helping users with tasks such as writing emails, essays, and code. Currently, ChatGPT is accessible to the public and free, as this new technology is in the research stage and feedback collection.
Furthermore, according to a report from CNBC International, Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai and Google AI chief Jeff Dean discussed the appearance of ChatGPT in a meeting of all parties recently.
One employee asked at the meeting whether the company was missed because it did not launch technology like ChatGPT first. This is because OpenAI is claimed to have deep ties to Google's competitor, Microsoft.
Both Pichai and Dean responded by saying Google AI language models are as capable as OpenAi, but companies should move more conservatively than small startups because of the reputational risks posed by the technology.
We really want to get these things out of real product and become more prominent things featuring language models than behind covers, where we've been using them to date. But, it's very important we did this right," said Dean.
Pichai added that Google has many plans for the AI language feature in 2023, and, "this is an area where we have to be brave and responsible so we have to balance it," he said.
Launching The Verge, Thursday, December 15, Google has developed a number of large AI language models (LLM) that have the same capabilities as ChatGPT. Including BERT, MUM, and LaMDA, all of which have been used to improve Google search engines. However, such improvements are not obvious, and focus on decomposing users' queries to better understand what they mean.
In addition, Dean admits many challenges to presenting things like ChatGPT. He said, "You can imagine for applications like search, factuality issues are essential and for other applications, bias and toxicity as well as security issues are also very important," Dean explained.
"(AI chatbots) can make it up. If they're not really sure about something, they're just going to tell you, you know, (like) elephants are the biggest laying animals or whatever."
