Ahead Of Christmas And New Year's Holidays, Commission VI Members Train Transportation Systems To Be Friendly For The Elderly
Member of Commission VI DPR RI Herman Khaeron reminded the importance of a public transportation system that is friendly to the elderly.
Moreover, said Herman, it will soon enter the holidays for the 2022 Christmas and 2023 New Year celebrations.
For example, said Herman, at several airports, there are problems with access to the exit which is still far away. So, it seems not friendly to the elderly.
"This movement system must also be friendly to the elderly. If you look at the existing airports, it seems that the movement is not counted up to how to shorten the movement," said Herman, in an official statement, Thursday, December 15.
For this reason, Herman encourages easy access for people who want to use public transportation, especially those wearing airplane mode.
"For those who may not have made it possible to (can) walk far away, this is something that the exit door after they leave this airport must be made easier, so that the accumulation does not occur," he said.
Herman reminded the need for careful preparation ahead of the Christmas and New Year holidays.
The reason is, the accumulation of service users may occur considering that it has entered the end of the semester holidays for school children.
"Yesterday I asked and responded to by Angkasa Pura II, that there is a special area and a special gate for Umrah ones. So that it doesn't mix well, it seems that the atmosphere is getting more crowded. I think this is a suggestion," he said.
