Ministry Of Transportation Survey: 5 Provinces With The Highest Goals At Christmas And New Year
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) through the Transportation Policy Agency (BKT) conducted a survey of potential movements of people during the 2022 Christmas and 2023 New Year holidays.
As a result, 44.17 million people are predicted to travel and there are five regions that are the highest destinations.
This survey was conducted in two stages regarding the 2022 Christmas and 2023 New Year holidays.
The first stage is on 5 to 26 September 2022 and the second stage is on 17 to 30 November 2022. The data collection method in this survey is an online survey (medsos and SMS blast). Head of BKT Kemenhub I Gede Pasek Suardika said the five highest destination areas for the Christmas and New Year holidays this time will be dominated by Javanese islands.
The highest was Central Java with 8.7 million people or 19.7 percent.
Then, followed by East Java 17.5 percent or as many as 7.7 million people. Then, West Java 14.6 percent or as many as 6.5 million people; Jabodetabek 10.5 percent or 4.7 million people and Yogyakarta 8.2 percent or 3.6 million people.
"The top five are dominated on the island of Java," he said at a press conference, written Thursday, December 15.
Meanwhile, Gede said that most of the travelers came from Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jabotabek) 7.1 million people or 16. 5 percent.
Then, continued Gede, East Java as many as 6.2 million people or 14.5 percent. Followed by Central Java with 5.8 million people or 13.6 percent. West Java with 4.4 million people or 10.2 percent and North Sumatra with 3 million people or 6.9 percent.
Gede said the mode of transportation that became the main choice was private cars with 28.26 percent. Then followed by a motorcycle of 16.47 percent.
"The choice of the mode is still dominated by private cars and motorcycles. The road choice is 58.7 percent still using motorcycles," he said.
