Deputy BNPB Wisnu Widjaja Died

JAKARTA - Deputy for Prevention and Preparedness of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Bernadus Wisnu Widjaja died due to illness.

The deceased died at the age of 59 after undergoing treatment at the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital. He left a wife and two sons and daughters.

The plan is for the bodies to be buried on Saturday, December 19 at 10.30 WIB at Pondok Ranggon TPU.

Geological Engineering graduate from University of Leeds UK is known as a friendly person to all circles.

Wisnu Wijaya has been active in the field of disaster in Indonesia since 2002 and has served as Chair of the Working Group for Technical Assistance for Disaster Mitigation in Research and Technology.

Then in 2002-2007 he was the Head of Natural Disaster Mitigation at Bakornas PB, in 2007-2008 he was Head of Sub-Directorate for Disaster Mitigation Techniques at Bakornas PB.

The deceased also served as Director of Disaster Risk Reduction at BNPB from 2008 to 2010, and was also the Head of the National Education and Training Center for BNPB in 2012-2014.
