BMKG Ramakan Sumbar, Jambi, Riau Hingga Banten Diguyur Hujan Deras Hari Ini
JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported that West Sumatra (West Sumatra), Jambi, Riau, Banten and most parts of Indonesia have the potential to experience heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds today Thursday 15 December.
Citing the official BMKG website via Antara, it is explained that heavy rain which can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds is also likely to occur in the provinces of Aceh, North Sumatra, Riau Islands, Bengkulu, Jambi, South Sumatra, Bangka Belitung Islands, Lampung, Banten, West Java, DKI Jakarta, Central Java, and East Java.
Parts of the Provinces of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Maluku, Maluku, West Papua, and Papua also face the potential for heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds.
In addition, BMKG appealed to fishermen and ship operators to be aware of the potential for high waves in a number of water areas from Thursday to Friday, December 16 at 07.00 WIB.
Waves as high as 2.5 to four meters are likely to approach the western waters of Simeulue Island to the Mentawai Islands, Enggano Island Waters, Anambas Islands waters- Natuna Islands, northern and western waters of the Natuna Islands, Subi-Series Islands Waters, northern waters of the Anambas Islands, and the western Indian Ocean of the Simeulue Islands to Lampung.
Meanwhile, wave heights in the North Natuna Sea area are predicted to be four to six meters on Thursday to Friday, December 16.
