Riza Can Still Walk In The DPR After The Definitive Cawagub Is Stipulated
JAKARTA - Ahmad Riza Patria does not have to resign from his post as a member of the DPR RI if he has been declared the definitive candidate for Deputy Governor of DKI by the voting committee (panlih).
It is known, at this time Riza is still the Deputy Chairperson of Commission V DPR RI. He was promoted by the Gerindra Party to become the cawagub of DKI and competed with Nurmansjah Lubis who was promoted by PKS.
The chairman of the DKI Gerindra DPD Muhammad Taufik stated that the regulations (tatib) of the cawagub of DKI and Law Number 23 of 2014 concerning Regional Government stated that Riza was only required to resign from a member of the DPR after being officially elected as Deputy Governor of DKI.
"His resignation after being elected is in accordance with the provisions of the law," said Taufik in Central Jakarta, Friday, January 31.
Continuing, Riza also felt that there was no need to resign from his position as Chairman of the Gerindra DPP for Government and Politics, Secretary of the Gerindra Supervisory and Discipline Agency, and a member of the Gerindra Organizational Selection Board.
If he is elected as Deputy Governor of DKI, Riza is not worried that his work focus will be reduced by the number of positions he holds in the Gerindra management.
"Regarding the position, back to us again, how to divide the duties of our job functions," said Riza.
"I remember Pak Habibie when he was president and at the same time also had 28 positions. His position was nothing light, at home and abroad, but everything could be carried out with brilliant results," he added.
Taufik's statement that did not require Riza to resign from the DPR after being determined to be the definitive candidate was in contrast to Abdurrahman Suhaimi, chairman of the DKI Jakarta Cawagub Special Committee, who had previously served as a member of the DKI Jakarta Cawagub Special Committee.
When Ahmad Syaikhu had not been replaced by Nurmansyah and RIza from the Jakarta cawagub candidate, Suhaimi said Syaikhu had to resign from his position in parliament if he still wanted to be the definitive vice governor candidate.
If you don't want to give up membership in the DPR, Syaikhu will not be made the definitive candidate. This decision must be taken by candidates who serve as members of the DPR during the verification process by the election committee which will be formed later.
"Based on the order that has been prepared, later the committee will ask the vice governor candidate again. If he chooses to remain the definitive candidate, then (Syaikhu) must resign," said Suhaimi, Monday, October 21 2019.
For information, DPRD will hold a joint leadership meeting (rapimgab) on February 6. In the rapimgab, the DPRD will ratify the rules for the election of DKI Deputy Governor that have been drawn up by a special committee (special committee).
In addition, the DPRD has formed a voting committee (panlih) which has the task of taking care of election techniques and verifying the administrative requirements of the DKI Cawagub. The process continues with the determination of the schedule for the plenary session of the election by voting from the members of the board.
The election plenary session will be held if the number of members of the DKI DPRD who are present meets the quorum requirements, namely 50 percent plus 1 person. The number of members of the DKI DPRD is 106 people. Thus, a meeting is considered a quorum if at least 54 members are present.
There are two election processes that will be held by the DPRD. First, the elected cawagub must get 50 percent + 1 of the number of DPR members present. Second, the cawagub can win the election if it is elected the most by DPRD regardless of the number of members present.
